Inspired by their 2-year-old daughter Anna’s desire for a book about the Virginia Tech mascot, Aimee and Naren Aryal self-published their first children’s book, Hello Hokie Bird!, in 2003. In the next year, they published another 39 children’s titles, all featuring the team mascots of various college teams, including Notre Dame Irish, Syracuse University Orangemen, Michigan State Spartans, and others.

Through their Mascot Books publishing company, they plan to publish another 50 titles in the coming year. Aimee is the author of all the books.
