Robert Kiyosaki originally self-published
Rich Dad, Poor Dad, written with Sharon Lechter, in 1997 as a $15.95
“brochure” designed to attract customers to his website where he could sell his
$195.00 Cashflow board game.
After selling rights to Warner Business Books in 2000 and
appearing on Oprah, he sold millions more copies, with the book sitting
on the New York Times bestseller list for four
years. By New Year’s 2005, the book had sold more than 10 million copies and was
the #1 business bestseller for 2004 according to USA Today.
The Rich Dad series, with
eleven additional titles, has become a cornerstone of Warner Business Books. New
titles have included Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing;
Rich Dad’s Rich Kid, Smart Kid; Rich Dad’s Retire Young, Retire Rich; and
Rich Dad’s Success Stories. The series is now
published in 41 languages with more than 20 million copies sold. Seven
additional titles form the Rich Dad Advisors series.
Robert Kiyosaki, Kim Kiyosaki, and Sharon Lechter have gone
on to create many other products and seminar programs under their Rich Dad
Company, a financial education company that offers many great services.
Here’s what he had to say about the help he received from
booking ads in Radio/TV Interview Report:
The interviews I received were an immense kick-start to
the success of my book Rich Dad Poor Dad. By
doing radio and TV interviews on a regular basis promoting my book, doors
throughout the publishing world opened to me. Your company gave me the initial
boost I needed to create momentum and sell my first 250,000 copies — a
monumental task for any self publisher. To date, we’ve sold more than 10 million
copies of Rich Dad Poor Dad worldwide. My book
is now available in 38 languages and 80 countries. I’ve been on the
New York Times bestseller list for more than two years. Warner Books is
now our publisher and the momentum continues to build. In a few weeks I’ll be
presenting another live seminar — only this one will be at Madison Square Garden!
In 2006, Robert began Rich Publishing to publish his wife's
book, Rich Woman, as well as other books including Why We Want You to
Be Rich: Two Men—One Message by himself and Donald Trump. Both books went on to be bestsellers.
